The M-PET architecture is predicated on the notion that a Job is a Job is a Job regardless of its origin or underlying 'type'. In other words PM Jobs are no different from Corrective or Capitol improvement Jobs. They all require that a description of the procedures to be performed be combined with details about who is to perform it, how long it should take and any parts or special tools which may be required. The whole system revolves around defining work with it's required resources, scheduling it and distributing it to personnel as efficiently as possible. The rest of the system 'merely' provides a record of the extent to which the scheduled work was done and tools for measuring and improving equipment reliability. So, to M-PET all Jobs are essentially equal. Of course all Jobs are NOT equal to maintenance personnel and system provides many facilities so this fact can be properly reflected, but all Jobs are stored in the same place in the database and all end up in the same place in History. What varies is how Jobs enter the system. There are basically four ways Jobs enter the system:

  • a. Automatic Transformation of Assigned Tasks into Scheduled Jobs (PM/Regular Repetitive).
  • b. Manual Transformation of Standard Jobs into Scheduled Jobs.
  • c. Manual Keyboard Entry (Corrective).
  • d. Work Request (floor, facility, web or in-shop fast action requests).

Issued Jobs (Plans) are managed by a series of codes such as priority, status, schedule date and event (shut-down or project) which are dynamic and informative as jobs pass through to completion. Four Winds Group implementation services leverage these codes to develop best practices for your specific needs. From schedule to issue/print to hold, rework or completion, jobs are under complete control of the maintenance organization. Via a series of special features requests are immediately communicated, priorities established, resources dispatched, approvals obtained and materials, parts or outside resources scheduled to accomplish the work in a timely fashion. Via a series of special user all users are kept appraised of their areas of concern whether it is submitted requests, assigned jobs or management “hot button” issues. Four Winds Group Implementation services can show you how to use M-PET to take complete control of every aspect of job flow for seamless management of your maintenance operations. Examples of job requests as well as PM jobs are included elsewhere in this document.
