Maintenance Objects are the things that you will use M-PET to maintain. Why do we call them Maintenance Objects? Machines or individual pieces of equipment are usually the first things which come to mind when we think of maintenance. But take a look at a typical enterprise's list of 'machines' and you'll see things like carpets, rooms, loading docks, bathroom tiles and toilets. With the possible exception of toilets, these 'things' can hardly be called machines. M-PET uses the term 'Maintenance Objects' to refer to the things being maintained. MaintObject and Object are often used as shorter forms of Maintenance Object. (But M-PET is VERY flexible; in fact you can change the names anywhere in the system to best suit terminology at your location so creativity or “we've always done it that way” can be accommodated.
