Once a Job is Planned, one way or another, a decision must be made about WHEN to perform the work, in other words, the Job/Job Step must be given a ‘Start Date’. M-PET assigns a Start Date in the case of Jobs automatically generated by Object Tasks, but this Start Date and all other Start Dates can be modified or removed in a variety of ways. For instance, M-PET provides two sophisticated interfaces for the viewing and manipulation of Start Dates. In both facilities Jobs can be ‘visually dragged and dropped’ from one day to another

A Job is considered ‘on the schedule’ if it has a Start Date, and ‘off the schedule’ if it doesn’t have a start date. A Job is considered ‘in the backlog’ if it is in the Planned Stage but has no start date.
