Once a Job is Planned, one way or another, a decision must be made about WHEN to perform the work, in other words, the Job/Job
Step must be given a ‘Start Date’. M-PET assigns a Start Date in the case of Jobs automatically generated by Object Tasks, but this Start Date and all
other Start Dates can be modified or removed in a variety of ways. For instance, M-PET provides two sophisticated interfaces for the viewing and manipulation
of Start Dates. In both facilities Jobs can be ‘visually dragged and dropped’ from one day to anotherA Job is considered ‘on the schedule’ if it has a Start Date, and ‘off the schedule’ if it doesn’t have a start date. A Job is considered ‘in the backlog’ if it is in the Planned Stage but has no start date.
